A former house of representatives candidate due for Lokoja/Kotonkarfe federal constituency, His Excellency, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu has joined the Kogi State 2019 gubernatorial contest to succeed incumbent Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Engr. Bashir, an Egbira hailed from Kogi LGA of the State, said he is in the contest to consolidate on the achievements of the current leadership of the New Direction. Stating that Gov. Bello has done so well and hence the need for more service to the people of the State.
Bashir enlists Education, security, power, agriculture, human capital development also include youths and women development among others top priorities if voted as 5th executive Governor.
Bashir, a close ally of Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State has officially declared his intent to run for the State governorship election on the platform of the ruling APC.
The Kogi born erudite Engineer cum politician was accompanied by his campaign DG, supporters across the 21 LGAs and well wishers from nooks and crannies of the State.
Recall, the All Progressives Congress, APC, had earlier fix Kogi gubernatorial primaries for August 29th, 2019 and while main elections comes up November 16th, 2019.
