Breaking: Attorney general of the Federation take over Sowore case over court invasion by DSS

The office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has given a directions that case filed again Omoyele Sowore be forwarded to his office.

The direction come Following the outrage and condemnation behind the invasion of the Federal High Court in Abuja by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) last Friday to rearrest pro-democracy campaigner and journalist, Omoyele Sowore.

With the direction, the office of AGF has swiftly taken over the prosecution of Sowore from the DSS.

Malami who speak on the directive said that the action is inline with deliberate efforts by the government to probe emerging case behind the court invasion by the DSS. 

The AGF said the move was a reflection of government’s commitment to respect the sanctity of the rule of law and protect human rights.
