9th Senate reintroduced Bill to establish Nigerian Peace Corps, that was rejected by Buhari from the 8th Senate

The Nigerian 9th Senate under the leadership of Senator Ahmed Lawan has reintroduced the Bill to Established Nigerian Peace Corps, that was rejected by President Muhammad Buhari from the 8th Senate under the leadership of Senator Bukola Saraki.

The bill that was sponsored by Senator Ali Ndume from Borno was among the six bills read for the first time at plenary on Tuesday.

The same bill in 2017 passed by the National Assembly, but President Muhammad Buhari refused to signed the bill into law on February 2018.

The seek to covert Peace Corps, which is presently a non Governmental organization, to a paramilitary body.
