Abaji council Chairman, on the Move to Expand, fence Abaji Market

The chairman of Abaji Area council Alh. Abdulrahaman Ajiya has reiterate it commitment to Expand and fence Abaji market.

The development was disclosed today by Abbas Salihu Master, The SSA Media and Publicity, To Executive Chairman Of Abaji Area Council FCT-Abuja.

Salihu said, ” Earlier today,
The Executive Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya presides over the Executive Council Meeting comprising the vice, council secretary, chief of staff, Supervisory Councillors, Senior Advisers, Head of Administration, Council Treasurer, Head of Departments and other carrier civil servants at the top echelon.

The Chairman while delivering his welcome address thanked God Almighty for spearing our lives to see another year in good health and prayed for his guidance and leadership for the task ahead. He stated further that the task ahead is enormous and therefore craved the indulgence of all and sundry to give their maximum support in order to actualize the objectives of 2020 budget tagged “Budget of Reality”.

For the objectives of the 2020 Budget to be actualized, Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) have to be strengthened in order to augment the monthly subvention from the Federal Government and other sources from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

Revenue Generation Drive was extensively discussed and solutions were proffered as follows among others;

1. Construction of parameter fence round the Abaji main market to avoid multiple entrance to the market
2. Extension of the market to accommodate parking space and warehouses
3. Construction of corner shops within and outside the market, e.t.c.
   The meeting ended by undertaken an on spot assessment tour to the market.”
