Media-created one-man armies, the need to chant way forwad and stop the media cross fire in kogi Koton Karfe LGA.

For Days now, i have been unavoidably sent off Facebook because I wanted taking out time to explore my positive life discoveries until the recent pronouncement of the New SSA’s to Kogi State government on Security Matters to pilot various local government in the state by the Governor which Hon Isah Abdulkarim ECOMOG privilegly form path. Obviously, I notice an unpleasant game is presently going on. Thou It has been going on for many years. I do not know if many can see it. I hope we see it for what it is, early enough, before it consumes us.

It is the increasing proliferation of one-man armies, the Media cross fire pretending to be speaking for collectives, when in fact they are only individuals holed up in their different cocoons, drunk on ignorance and bigotry, stoking the fire of hate, piling up on the walls of divide, pushing agenda personal to them.

Truth be told, many of these people are mere paper tigers, whose circles of influence might not even be as wide as their remote abodes, but courtesy of the media, they are promoted to prominence, with their viewpoints which should not go beyond their neighbourhood beer parlours or newspaper stands, being thrust into the mainframe of local discourse.

It did not start today.

But the media gobbled it all up, gave prominence to all sorts of people, with some of these fringe voices rising to prominence on a wave created by the media, transforming to become Activists and Commentators. We now have an industry of these emergency activists and community of Public Affairs Analysts purportedly speaking for us, when they only speak for themselves and their pockets.

Howbeit, The media likes it when we get easily excited, not measured with our words, running off with emotion, irrespective of the facts. The more controversial we are, the more interested we are in pushing our views. Sometimes, we give legs to misguided posts that should not make it beyond these platform. Sometimes I wonder if some have taken a vow to bring the house down.

Truth be told, many of the people troubling Kogi Koto Karfe Local Government , setting fires here and there, working hard to knock one head against the other are, for a fact, mere paper tigers. They are only vocal minorities with negligible following and little influence. They are mostly media creations, one-man armies, propped up by our media, for all kinds of crazy, careless, mischievous reasons.

Since we now have a another administrative dispensation as recent sworn in yesterday, it’s imperative we chant out Way forward by coming up with constructive criticism towards making a positive developmental impact. For, the development of Kogi local Government is our collective responsibilities. I only hope that those pushing whatever agenda it is with this deliberate promotion of divisive views by fringe elements have thought through the implications of what they are doing. Perhaps, cutting off the face to spite the nose fits well into their agenda. Who knows?

Let’s Be guided.
Better Kogi Local government is possible.

Congratulations
