Over 100 Shops burn, several people injured in Benue, Monday Market Fire Out break

No fewer than 100 shops have been burned down in a fire out breaks at Otukpo Main Market in Benue State on today Monday, 16th of March 2020.

Score numbers of peoples also injuries during the inferno, which started at about 5:00am and has continued till after 12pm.

An eyewitness who speak to newsmen said that firefighters come to the scene late, but had no water to put of the fire.

He said, “Many people, traders especially, have been injured because they are trying to rush in to get their goods. 

“The fire started since 5:00am and it’s still burning, over 100 shops have been burnt already.

“Most of the traders keep their monies in the shops and can’t afford to lose them. Some already lost all they have.”

The source further said that half of the market has been destroyed by the fire.

The incident come a day after pipeline explosion killed over 15 peoples in Lagos, left many houses, schools and shops burned down.
