Even with the infection of three governors, other Yahaya Bello still behaving as if the COVID 19 is a Federal Government problem with nothing to shows that the global pandemic is a threat in kogi state, his mere policy pronouncements lacks enforcement as markets and other gathering places are very active in Kogi state, On health aspect, it is just copy and paste- quickly create an isolation center that is as dirty as where dogs are trained , his restrict movements and prohibition of gathering Is a mere lips services.
Kogi state government is sleeping and snoring over COVID-19. Nothing is being put in places to curtail the pending danger, the deputy governor is only busy collecting donation from UBA and others.
Dr Yakubu Aliyu, the Kogi indigene who died of COVID-19 in Katsina state has family members in Kogi, its being rumoured that he visited here recently while still asymptomatic.
What is the Government doing about tracing all his contacts and disinfecting the locations he visited please?
We need Kogi State government to step up their game to investigate his family, relatives and friends in other to avoid Covid-19 spread.
Apart from this recent happenings,fears has enveloped people around Kogi state, about the lack of standard isolation centres in the state capital and other location,the ones the goverrment is laying claim to and reporting on the news and social media,is just nothing to right home about,but a mere clinic designed to meet the demands of the people of Farec estate and it’s environs
The controversial visit to the family the President’s Chief of staff during the death of the governor’s mother soon after his arrival from Belgium is still shrouded in vague report of the top goverrment officials testing positive in Kogi without making the reports /results public.
We demand more preventive and proactive measures to this global pandemic as if it is construed in the box of bad governance in Kogi,it will be a complete disservice to humanity and kogi state.
As a transit sate between the South and the North, East and West,more efforts and clamour for federal government attention is desirable rather than playing down or playing politics this time with human lives.
As the pandemic will have significant negative consequences on the livelihood of majority of Kogites and Nigerians, it is expected that Kogi state governor should provide meaningful support in both financial and non-financial aspect.
With COVID-19 here with us, Yahaya Bello has left the good people of Kogi state to the mercy of God and fate, nothing to show that there is government in place and a time is now, his excellency must not be by mouth but must be demonstrated through action, Gov Yahaya Bello must wake and take Governance serious .
