Frank Archibong doles out food items across 11 wards in Eket

In a bid to salvage his people from the adverse effect of the lockdown in Akwa Ibom State, the Chairman of Eket Local Government Area, Mr. Frank Archibong has donated food items – comprising of rice, beans, indomie, yams, garri- and beverages to indigenes across the 11 wards in Eket Local Government Area.

The Chairman who made the donations today, while hosting all the 11 wards in the Local Government Area.

Presenting the items, Mrs Bright Archibong who represented the Eket Council Boss, her husband, said the gesture was inspired by the Chairman’s concern about the well-being of the people within the period of the lockdown, adding that the target is majorly the aged, less privileged, widows and widowers across party lines in the Local Government Area.

According to Bright, COVID 19 came almost like a thief in the night and robbed the world of her collective hard work, crippling economies and destroying lives.

She pledged that her hubby shall continue to contribute his quota in ensuring that the people stay safe and healthy.

She stressed, ” the Chairman of the Council is out to ensure that he contribute towards ameliorating the sufferings of the less privileged in the Local Government Area. He loves and has his people at heart.”

Speaking further, Bright Archibong stated that her husband will always ensure the people at the grassroots, the common man and woman whom the grassroots is meant to serve, have a bite of the meat and a taste of the goodies from the Local Government Area adding that as the wife of the Chairman of Council, she will continue to act as a pillar of support to her husband.

She maintained that the State Government’s stay at home policy as a means of contending the Corona Virus is a step in a very positive direction.

Many people who benefitted from the Chairman’s initiative are of the belief that given what the Chairman has blessed them with that the stay at home policy have been supported by such massive initiative.

Respondents acknowledged the nobility of what Mr. Frank Archibong did and prayed God to bless him beyond measures.
