Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has announced the immediate shutdown of all livestock markets in State.
Consequently, no new consignment of livestock – goats, cows and rams, will be allowed into Akwa Ibom until further notice.
A statement issued tonight by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of COVID-19 Management Committee, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, advised livestock sellers to sell off their stock and shutdown as security agents have been directed to monitor and ensure full compliance with defaulters prosecuted.
