One person has been confirmed killed, three others are seriously injured, while over 20 people have been kidnapped in a bandit raid on some communities in Kogi Local Government area of Kogi State. Specifically Idu and Ahoko community in the area
It was the first of such invasion in the area since insurgency commenced across the local government.
A competent source reveals that the incident occurred at about 5.30am on Wednesday. The bandits, who were said to be many, rode on motorcycles and carried sophisticated guns, cutlasses and knives.
“They blocked the road from Idu and Ahoko and attacked the villagers going to the markets in the communities,” an eyewitness stated.
The bandits shot sporadically killing one person and kidnapped over 20 others. In the stampede that followed, three people were injured.
The inhabitants of the said, is urging the state government in conjunction with relevant authorities to ensure that the area is secured and tight with security agency to combat further occurrence.
