Some residents of Gegu Bekki of Kogi Kotonkarfe Local government area (LGA) of Kogi State yesterday stage a peaceful protests over incessant kidnapping and killing in the area.
The protest who troops out in numbers, call on the state governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello to do the needful, stating they can no longer sleep with their two eyes close.
Zakz Danhaki, who speak on be half of the protestors said
“We are using this medium to call on our Amiable governor,Yahaya Adoza Bello,who is doing everything possible to see that Kogi state becomes a crime free state to order the SSA on security matters to act regarding the issue of security situation in our local government,kidnappers are killing our people and demanding for ransom, kidnappers are now leaving in our domains like our neighbors.
Kogi local government youths are demanding that the perpetrators of the Attack should be brought to justice.
If some various political Appointees does not have hidden agenda why refusing to follow any method suggesting by the chairman of vigilante group of Nigeria ( V G N ).
Again if S S A on security matters has really done well on the aspect of insecurity matters,why afraid of the peaceful protest organized by Gegu beki youth?
The protesters are only calling for the quick intervention of the government if peradventure they are not aware of the bandits terrorising our community.
The political patronage system in Kogi local needs to die.criminals like this have no business being in government,we are not waiting for any leader to speak on our behalf any longer,our voice must be heard.

Our politicans and some political Appointees are now using the lives of it citizen to play politics,the peaceful protest was not political but a call for action over the on going senseless killing and ilegal kidnapping in Kogi local government.
4million Naira was brought on table to tackle the issue of insecurity in our domains but it was squander,this month they demanded for 10million naira but 15million naira was giving to them by our Amiable governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, still yet they have not acted.
We advising the law Abiding citizen of Kogi local government to remain calm.”
Recalled that within this month over 10 kidnapping attacks has took place in the area.
The latest kidnapping activities include the one that lead to the death of the owner of Popular supermarket, known as Chuks supermarket in Lokoja.
Before then, countless kidnapping and killing people in the area became frequent, people can no longer go to farm.
