Well, it’s been said that Liverpool may just have celebrated too much last week on winning the title to the extent that they forgot they were to play Manchester City next. It was a commanding victory for Pep Guardiola’s men.
Goals from Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden and an Unfortunate Own goal from Oxlade-Chamberlain helped killed off The Reds. Yes! They may have won the title, but the performance by Liverpool yesterday wasn’t befitting of a Champion as they were bamboozled by Manchester City.
The game practically ended in the first half with City pulling in Three goals already. Chamberlain’s own goal in the 69th minute only went further to prove Liverpool’s below par performance. Both teams had absolutely nothing at stake except further pride. Liverpool still has their 20 point lead against Manchester City the latter sitting comfortably in 2nd place,11 points above third placed Leicester.
Furthermore, Phil Foden continued his fine form for the Citizens as he put in record breaking performance scoring and assisting in the same game being the youngest player to do so at 20 years and 35days. Good one from the youngster.
