EPL Results : Berge and Mousset help Sheffield kill off underwhelming Tottenham as VAR causes further controversies .

Sheffield United 3-1 Tottenham
S. Berge (31). Harry Kane (90)
L.Mousset (69)
O.McBurnie (84)
L.Mousset.

In was a lacklustre performance from Tottenham at the Bramall lane as they found themselves on the wrong side of everything including the Visual Assistant Referee (VAR). Tottenham fell to their first defeat since the EPL restart on Thursday as they were dealt a blow from Sheffield losing 3-1 on a night were Harry Kane got his first ever goal against Sheffield United.

Harry Kane thought he had drawn Tottenham levelled after Sander Berge’s 31st minute opener, but that was not meant to be as the goal was disallowed by VAR due to a perceived handball by Lucas Moura who was apparently fouled in the build up to the goal. VAR official Michael Oliver could only see beyond the foul to point out Lucas Moura’s handling of the ball when going to ground. Missed feelings trolled that decision and further issues were raised in relation to the VAR technology.

Tottenham frustration were further aggravated as Mousset put the host two goal up in the 69th minute. McBruine sealed the victory for the Blades six minutes from time to give Sheffield their first victory in their last four games. Tottenham could only get a consolation goal from Harry Kane in the 90th minute to crown Tottenham’s not so good performance.
