Nigerian Professor of Infectious diseases dies
Lovett Lawson, a Professor of Infectious Diseases, has bowed to death as a result of COVID-19.
Until his death, he was the Chairman, Board of Directors, Zankli Medical Centre, Abuja.
It was reported that he died in quarantine at the National Hospital, Abuja, on Monday.
It was also gathered that the deceased had some underlying conditions which made it impossible for him to recover.
Dr. Tayo Haastrup, the spokesman for the National Hospital, confirmed the death of Lawson on Monday evening.
Haastrup said,
“I can confirm that Prof. Lawson died at the National Hospital today. His loss is a painful one indeed.”
