Leganes 2-2 Real Madrid –
Leganes take a bow out of the Spanish top flight with their draw against Real Madrid on Sunday. Despite a fight it wasn’t enough to guarantee safety for Leganes. And what more can be said about Madrid who finished the season on a high having claimed the league title on Thursday.
It was a back and forth game at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque. Sergio Ramos opend scoring in the 9th minute with a header putting Los Blancos ahead. Bryon Gil equalised for Leganes in the 45+1 minute as they look to cause an upset.
Asensio put the Champions back in front in the 52nd minute with a spectacular effort. Leganes have won three games out of thier previous four before this game knowing a loss would be it for them, they fought back but could only settle for a draw with Assale equalising in the 78th minute to guarantee relegation.
