In accordance with Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council ,TRC, Edit promulgated in 1991, Nsit Atai Local Government Traditional Rulers Council, has been inaugurated with the following members ;
1.HRM Edidem Peter Okon —–President
2.Chief Mfon Sunday ————–member
3.Chief Douglas Ekott————–member
4.Chief Bassey Edet John——–member
5.Chief Okono Udo Udo ———–member
6.Chief Akpan Frank Akpan—–member
7.Chief Sunday Andrew Udo—member
The TRC which is the highest traditional law making institution recognized by the Nigerian Constitution has a tenure of two years.
The Nsit Atai Council Chairman, Hon.Emem Ibanga who witnessed the inauguration, congratulated the newly sworn in TRC members and wished them a successful tenure of office
At the event, the Council boss preached the gosple of COVID-19 pandemic to the TRC members, reminding them to adhere to the guidelines and safety protocols so as to mitigate the spread of the pandemic.
She also read the Riot Act on gender based violence and emphasised that rape cases attract stiffer punishment.
Nsit Atai Paramount Ruler, HRM Edidem Peter Okon, expressed appreciation to the Chairman for making out time to witness the inauguration and used the occasion to canvassed support for her administration.
The Council Secretary, Hon. Nseabasi Udoeyo; Supervisors; Security Operative; TRC Secretary, Comrade Godson Edet Okon and indigenes of the area watched the event.
