Transfer News: Manchester City makes opening bid for Koulibaly.

 

Man city has reportedly table an opening offer for Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly having stared in the heart of the Napoli defense in recent years Koulibaly has been persistently linked with a move away from the Italian outfit as from late.

Man city is reported to be keeping a close eye on the Senegal international’s situation heading into the summer, although the Citizens have reportedly opened talks with Bournemouth for Nathan Ake as Pep Guardiola looks to bolster his back line.

Nevertheless, Corriere Dello Mezzogiorno reports that City are keen to get a deal for Koulibaly over the line and has presented an opening bid for to Napoli for the defender.

However, despite the financial implications of the Coronavirus pandemic, Gennaro Gattuso’s side are supposedly holding out for a figure between €70 to €80 million(£63.3 – £72.3 million) for Koulibaly, with the reports claiming that City’s bid is too low for the Copa Italian winners.

Koulibaly, who has turned out 21 times in the Italian topflight this season, still has three years left to run on his current deal with Napoli.
