Worst goalkeeper in Premier League history? Kepa’s save percentage stats suggest that he is.

This season Kepa Arrizabalaga has averaged the worst save percentage of all goalkeepers in the history of Premier League (among those who played 10 games and more).

He came 730th out of all 730 goalkeepers analysed with a number of 54.5 per cent.

That’s according to research by a Twitter user ThumbsUpFlag who compared save percentages of all goalkeepers in the Premier League era using a reputable stats website fbref.com.

Here’s the bottom of the list:

And here’s the top (yep, once we had the best goalkeeper in the Premier League history; how the tables have turned, :

As for other horror stats; the Spaniard has conceded 8% of all the goals scored against Chelsea in the Premier League goals since 1992. It took him only two years.

And the most infuriating, to say the least: for 30 per cent of goals conceded this season (14/47) he didn’t move at all. Well, it’s hard to pile up a decent save percentage if you don’t even attempt to make saves.

No wonder Chelsea are willing to sell Kepa – or at least buy a replacement for him. However, both of these tasks are promising to be extremely challenging .

How would you solve the tricky Kepa situation? Would you sell Kepa with an imminent financial hit (when compared to his £72million transfer to Chelsea)?
