Niger Govt pledge to ends banditry in the state

In its efforts to eradicated the security outrage and other related crimes, the Niger State Government has assured on its resolve to fight banditry and other criminalities in the state, just as it condoled the families of the victims of the banditry attack on Ukuru village in Mariga local government area.

Source gathered that the bandits killed 15 persons, injured five others   and rustle cattle as well as abducted an undisclosed number of people.

The Police Public Relations Officer of Niger State Command ASP Abiodun Wasiu confirmed that police and the vigilante were on trail of the bandits, assuring that they would be made to face the wrath.

Governor of the state Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello said tackling insecurity is the responsibility of all tiers of government and all citizens, adding that the state government has invested heavily in the fight against insecurity by supporting the federal government’s efforts.

The governor’s statement contained in a statement signed by his Press Secretary Mrs Mary Noel Berje  said  “besides boosting the morale of the troops on the frontline, the government has collaborated effectively with the President Muhammadu Buhari and security agencies in maintaining the internal security of Nigeria.”

He urged the people of the state to be vigilant and report suspicious movement or activities of those alien to their environment and communities to the security agencies for prompt action.

Governor Sani Bello earlier in the week visited the Super Camp 4 Operation Sahel Sanity, in Faskari, Katsina State, where bandits are suspected to be coming from to attack villagers in Niger State.
