39 kidnapped passenger were rescued by the Nigeria soldiers on Monday, November 30 on Kaduna-Zaira highway.
According to report, the army rescued the passengers after a firefight with some bandits on the Kaduna-Abuja and Zaira roads. The battle occurred on Sunday night into Monday morning.
The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Homeland Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirming the story said soldiers engaged armed bandits in firefight on the Kaduna-Abuja and Kaduna-Zaria roads in the late hours of Sunday and Monday in the latest of the confrontations.
It was gathered that one of the bandits was killed and the others escaped with bullets injuries.
However, 39 passengers on their way to Onitsha from sokoto were rescued.
