Bitcoin and Ethereum aren’t the only digital currencies that are hitting record highs this week. Dogecoin, the crypocurrency that features the face of a Shiba Inu dog as its logo, has surpassed 10 cents for the first time.
Dogecoin is a bitcoin clone that has reached success through clever marketing over the past year when over 100 new cryptocurrency have been created but not many have instantly carve out a niche.
Dogecoin has sponsored multiple high-profile events such as NASCAR team and the Winter Olympic even so there are few locations to use the coin and instead it has become de-factor internet tipping currency.
The coin has produced 100 million units by the end of 469716 and is now producing roughly 5 million units per year.
