Unknown Gunmen invade Kogi Prison, Killed Two Soldier free over 100 Prisoners

Over 100 Prisoners in Kogi State Prison has escape after unknown Gunmen break into the Prison on Monday night.

Naijablog gathered that two among the soldiers who are at Checkpoint close to the prison were killed by the Gunmen.

The report which has been confirmed the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 8, Lokoja, Ayuba Edeh, further disclose that some warders who were at duty during the attack sustain fatal injuries.

According to Edeh the two soldiers killed were at a roadblock before the Kabba correctional centre while over 100 inmates escaped when hoodlums invaded the facility overnight.

The soldiers were said to have mounted a routine checkpoint about 50 metres from the prison situated along the Lokoja- Okebukun-Kabba highway when the hoodlums came and rained bullets on them before invading the prison facility.

Some of the escape prisoner has been arrested while trying to board a car to Illorin.
