Akwa Ibom Court issued Warrant of Arrest of Uduak Akpan Sister, over Iniubong Umoren murder

Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo, has issued production warrant for one Miss Bassey Anwan Akpan, as the third accused person standing trial in the murder of Miss Iniubong Umoren.

The 25-year-old Bassey Anwan Akpan is to join her younger brother, Uduak-Abasi Frank Akpan, the first accused person in the charge, and his father, Mr. Frank Akpan, whose charge is that of accessory after the fact of killing of the job seeker in April, this year.

Bassey Anwan Akpan, a graduate of English Language and Literary Studies, is said to have harboured her brother in her residence in Calabar, after her brother allegedly murdered Iniubong Umoren in Nung Ikono Obio, Uruan in Akwa Ibom State.

The order was issued today by the trial judge, Justice Bassey Nkanang, as the Court commenced hearing on the matter, De Novo, following the transfer of Justice Bennett Illaumoh, who formerly handled the case.

The case has been adjourned to Thursday, 4th November, 2021 for plea.
