Your Wife Can Make You – Dele Olawanle

Today is my wife’s 51st birthday. I met her when she was 20, celebrated her 21st birthday together and got married when she was 21. By the 8th of June, we would have been married for 30 years. We have three children aged 27, 24 and 20. So ladies, marry early if you can.

She was born in London to her Nigerian parents. Me, I was a thoroughbred Nigerian from a very poor family and raised by a single parent. Our background was different. I remember in 1992 when she said we should go swimming at a swimming pool Centre. I laughed. My mother was living in a rented house and I wanted to build a house for her, no time to swim. Lol!

I was living in a single room that I could not afford to heat in the winter season. Today, our life does not look like our past. Very beautiful life engraved by God with grace despite all the storms of life.

She supported me in every way possible and I became a British citizen by being married to her. Of all our financial investments, career progression, ministry achievement and family achievements, she is a pillar. She raised her children well before deciding to get her degree at the age of 48. I have been on TV in the UK 365 days a year for the past 18 years but she hardly appeared, rather, she preferred to stay in the background. It is now that I am forcing her to appear. She preferred to build us rather than be selfish or pushy to the detriment of all. I know I could not have come this far without her support. I know what I am talking about.

God made me, my mother made me and my wife of 30 years, Bimbo, completed the business. I pray for her today that she will live long and enjoy the fruits of her labour. Happy birthday and more grace. I love you.

To all the men out there, if you have a good woman, appreciate her and don’t misuse her. She can make you. A good woman is a great asset. Know this and know peace.

Dele Olawanle is my name.
