Many House, and shop was said to have flooded with water due to heavy downpour which occur yesterday in Abaji area council of Abuja.
The information was made available to our correspondent via press release, signed by COMR. ADAMU HARUNA Chief press secretary ABAJI AREA COUNCIL, Thisday, 26th June, 2019, titled, ABAJI residents witness A torrential rain pour.
The statement read, “Earlier today the Chief Press Secretary Abaji Area Council (COMR. ADAMU HARUNA) Brainstormed the Executive Chairman Of Abaji Hon. Abdulrahaman Ajiya Abayaro Abaji on how some of the Residents of Abaji Town and it is Environs witness a heavy Rain fall.
” The rain fall which lasted for about Four (4) Hours Affects some business Centre and Household across the town as many part as of the town and country were ravaged by floodwater.
Some parts of the town were submerged after storm unleashed torrential rain that triggered floods.
“The flood forced the residents at the affected areas out of their homes looking for proper solutions to stop the flood.
“The Executive Chairman Abaji Area Council sympathized with the victims and has directed the works Department to take necessary action to the Affected Areas with immediate effect.▪
“The Executively Chairman after his inspection urge the Residents to take proper care of the Culverts and water ways in their respective Domains in other to avoid further occurrence.”
