Sen. Oseni back Buhari said cybercrime, and hate speech will not be taken likely

Senator Yakubu Oseni, the senator representing Kogi Central has said that issue of cybercrime and hate speech will not be taken likely, he advice youth and others to desist from it.

The senator said this on his @59 independent day speech as he address Nigerians.

Fellow Nigerians,

As we celebrate Nigerians both at home and abroad on this independence of Nigeria at 59, let’s not be overwhelmed by our challenges. Our problems do not define us as a people. Our achievements and strengths do, therefore, let’s focus more on the positives.

As individuals, recommit to the building of our nation. We should collectively work together to foster peace in our homes, workplaces and communities. Endeavor to take responsibility personally for our country. Turn up to work on time and give a fair day’s work for a fair day’s pay.

Our personal productivity should increase, regularly ask ourselves, “How we can do our jobs better and be more productive, adding to the growth of our country?” Keeping faith with the President Muhammudu Buhari led-administration, who is working tirelessly to reposition Nigeria for the greater good of all and sundry.

We are a people of excellence, reason why people in the world over identify with Nigerian culture, because there are Nigerians at home and abroad who have distinguished themselves internationally.

As made known earlier today by Mr President in his speech; “Our attention is increasingly being focused on cyber-crimes and the abuse of technology through hate speech and other divisive material being propagated on social media. Whilst we uphold the Constitutional rights of our people to freedom of expression and association, where the purported exercise of these rights infringes on the rights of other citizens or threatens to undermine our National Security, we will take firm and decisive action” in pursuant to the foregoing, I would like to appeal to citizens to shun this act in its entirety.
