The Almajiri System of Education formally banned in Kano

Kano State government has formally banned the traditional Almajiri system of education in the state and efforts are being made to enroll them in the conventional school system.

About 2, 000 evacuated Almajiries who were quarantined for two weeks after the state commenced the reparation exercise, have been directed to be enrolled in the standard educational system, considering the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje assured the citizens of the state that the Almajiries will be handed over to the right authorities, and that they should do their bit by adhering to regulations and observing precautionary measures.
