EPL Match Report: Premier League Champions Cruises past Chelsea in an eight-goal thriller.

Liverpool 5-3 Chelsea: It was a game any Liverpool Fan would have loved to see in person, the final home game of the season for Liverpool in what has been a Fairytale of a season for The Reds.

A befitting trophy presentation game for Liverpool who finally held the EPL trophy in their hands after 35 years. And it was at the hands of Chelsea at Anfield that it was done.

It was a thrilling encounter at the Merseyside, one that produced Eight goals in total. At the end of the game it was Liverpool who came out tops.

i Kieta Opened scoring for the Reds in the 23rd minute with a right footed rocket shot at goal. Alexander-Arnold made it 2-nil with a sublime free kick in the 38th minute. Wijnaldum seemed to make the game unreachable for The Blues as his goal made it 3-nil for Liverpool who looked to want to run away with victory. Olivier Giroud pulled one back for Chelsea right at half time to give Lampard’s men some sense of dignity.

The second half began and there was Roberto Firmino who scored his first league goal since March 2019 to make it 4-1 for the host; what a long wait it has been for the Brazilian.

American Christian Pulisic came on to inspire a comeback for Chelsea. Tammy Abraham made it 4-2 for the Blues seconds after coming on as a sub. The impressive Pulisic helped Chelsea battle back to 4-3 with his goal in the 78th minute to spark a comeback raising the hopes of Clinching a draw they just need to be assured of a top four finish. But such wasn’t Meant to be.

Liverpool had the last word of the game, Alek Oxlade-Chamberlain who came on for Salah placing a fine ball into the Blues net to Guarantee victory for The Reds.

It was a good game from Liverpool one befitting of a Champion. After the game it was celebrations all round.

Liverpool will end the season not losing any match at home in the Premier League. And whose defensive woes continued, would have to wait till Final day to know their Top four status as they now sit In fourth place behind Manchester United.
