Manchester City signs Nathan Ake

The Holland International has completed his move to the Etihad Stadium to join Manchester City from relegated AFC Bournemouth for a fee of £40m.

Peo Guardiola looks to refresh his squad and has already signed Spanish Winger, Ferran Torres for £21m from Valencia.

Ake becomes Pep’s second major signing as he pens down a five year deal for City. The deal becomes a record transfer fee for Bournemouth,( highest sale ever ) and could even receive a further £1m as add-ons for the Defender.

Nathan Ake started off at Chelsea and then with the Blues able to buy him cause of the Buy-back clause in his contract but opted out due to his fee.

Speaking to City’s website, Ake was elated joining City in his words he said ” Coming here is a dream for me. This is a top side full of world-class players. Everywhere you look in this squad they are big names Everywhere with pedigree.

“Pep is a manager admired across the world – what he’s done in the game speaks for itself. The success he’s had is unbelievable and the style of football he plays really appeals to me.

” I know i’m going to have work hard to get into the side, but that’s what I’m here to do. I’ll do whatever it takes to make an impact and help the team win silverware.”

Ake comes in to somewhat fill the void left by Vincent Kompany who left in June 2019.

Ake has experience and he’s able to play comfortably well in a back three and also does well in a left-back position.
