IYDC Congress Thanks GYB/CEDO for Appointing Member as SSA Political

By Promise Emmanuel, from Lokoja Kogi State

The Igala Youth Development Congress (IYDC) consisting members from all the Nine Local Governments of Kogi East, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward David Onoja (CIK) to felicitate with him and the Governor of the state, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on the recent victory during the t November 16th Gubernatorial election.

Chief Edward David Onoja (CIK) appreciated them for the visit, and promised to continue supporting the group, as their principles aligned with that of the NEW DIRECTION administration in eschewing religious, tribal and class divide. He stated that anyone can construct roads, build halls and provide boreholes as an elementary requirement of Governmen, however, a leader endeavours to connect the people together. He disclosed how Governor Bello broke many glass ceilings of class divides, religious intolerance and age barriers in governance in Kogi state, a template which he says should be adopted to break the three monsters of ethnic divides, class divides and religious divides which is the major problem of the Nigerian nation. He further said that few people have existed with such distinctive character, one of which was the late Nelson Mandela of South Africa.

One of the representatives of the group appreciated Chief Onoja for all the support given to their forum before, during and after the election, and ultimately expressed their joy at his decision to choose from their pool of members, specifically their President, Hon. Felix Omachoko Solomon whom is the current Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Political to the Deputy Governor of Kogi state.
